Commonly, participants said that they experimented with IQOS mainly because their purpose was to lower or quit smoking combustible cigarettes due to overall health dangers. They thought that IQOS potentially offered a new and ‘healthier’ path away from cigarettes. Some explained this goal differently—with no intention of ‘giving up’ or ‘quitting’ altogether, they perceived IQOS presented an alternative way to carry on ‘smoking’.
